OMRON LD MOBILE ROBOT

The Omron LD mobile robot is a collaborative robot. It is an intelligent and completely autonomous vehicle that improves performance, reduces machine downtime, eliminates errors and improves material traceability, allowing employees to focus on tasks that require complex human skills, thus increasing very process efficiency. Furthermore, unlike traditional AGVs, the Omron LD robot navigates using the normal functions of the system, without requiring expensive modifications.

Omron LD mobile robot: possible uses

Omron LD mobile robot can be suitable for many uses: an Omron LD mobile robot can be profitably used wherever there is a necessity to transport small-sized material weighing up to 90kg. For example: moving cardboard boxes to packaging lines, moving trays of integrated circuit chips, transporting tires, machine components, etc. The Omron LD mobile robot was created to facilitate and optimize operations and improve their efficiency. The software allows you to manage up to 100 Omron LD automatic vehicles that can work with people in absolute safety: these shuttles, associated with robotic arms, allow you to reach very high levels of automation, also allowing a very rapid recovery of the initial investment.

Models

Omron LD: configurations

The Omron LD mobile robot is available in two configurations:

– LD60, capable of carrying up to 60 kg (maximum speed 1.8 m / s)

– LD90, capable of carrying up to 90 kg (maximum speed 1.35 m / s)

Cart transporter Omron LD:

The Omron LD Cart Transporter has been designed to be mounted on moving trolleys and to transport them from one collection point to one drop point. Possible applications include replenishing inventory on the production line side, transporting unfinished products (Work in Progress) between process steps, and moving finished products to the warehouse. The Cart Transporter uses Natural Feature Navigation technology to autonomously locate a route in the system, without the need to make changes to it. The Omron LD Cart Transporter can be used safely between existing doors and aisles, as it is able to detect and avoid people, forklifts and other objects it encounters on its way.

 

 

The Omron LD Cart Transporter is available in two models:

– LD-105CT with a capacity of 105 kg (maximum speed 1.35 – m / s)

– LD-130CT with a capacity of 130 kg (maximum speed 0.9 m / s)

Main accessories:

– Side laser kit: patented technology that improves safety and the ability to avoid obstacles

– Acuity Kit: Allows mobile robots to navigate highly dynamic environments such as warehouses and factories

– Docking station for charging robots

HAPS (High Accuracy Positioning System): for applications that require precise alignment between the robot and conveyor entry / exit points, container filling stations, etc.

Call button: allows the operator to call a mobile robot to a specific point. It includes digital I / O which can be used to open doors

HMI: 7-inch touchscreen for interaction between the operator and the robot

MobilePlanner

MobilePlanner is Omron’s PC software for managing the LD mobile robot and the fleets of these vehicles.

– Create and distribute maps for mobile robot applications

– Assign work activities and plan routes

Omron LD mobile robots use an integrated laser to scan the environment and generate the navigation map.

The navigation map can be edited with MobilePlanner:

– Added collection and drop points
– Addition of restricted areas
– Reliable navigation

In case of substantial changes to the working environment (for example in warehouses and factories where objects such as pallets and trolleys often change position), the Acuity function is an additional method of “locating” the integrated laser. The latter identifies the lights in the ceiling lights and superimposes the “map of lights” on the “floor map”, also allowing the mobile robots to move easily between the wide open spaces of the warehouses.

 

Security

Suitable for use in safety applications, our mobile robots thanks to integrated lasers and sensors to detect obstacles in their path and, based on the speed of movement, activate the emergency stop (E-stop) to prevent collisions between vehicles and objects encountered during the journey.
